Our terms and conditions comply with UK legislation and are designed to ensure that our customers can shop easily and with confidence with makehampers.com

These terms and conditions only apply to web site sales.


All prices are in £ sterling and inclusive of VAT and inclusive of packaging and delivery charges to any address in UK. Any exceptions will be clearly marked on the website where relevant. Prices may be subject to change without notice, but we will only alter the price after we have confirmed your order, if is to your benefit.

Foreign customers

Whilst this website is designed with UK customers in mind, we welcome enquiries from customers in other countries. Prices include UK Sales Tax (VAT), currently at 20%, which may not be payable by foreign customers; however, additional delivery charges will usually apply. Please telephone and we will do our best to assist.


All orders must be paid for in full prior to despatch of the goods. The following payment methods are accepted;

Credit/debit cards – all card payments are validated and authorised prior to completion of your order. We are not liable for non-delivery of your goods if your payment is not authorised.

Product availability

Items shown on this website may not always be in stock. If any of your chosen items is not in stock, you will be advised of our best estimate of availability and delivery date at the time you place your order. Please note that an indication of such dates is an estimate only, may be subject to change without notice, and does not constitute a contractual obligation by MakeHampers to supply goods by a certain date. However, if availability is unduly delayed, we will use our best endeavours to keep you informed.

Product images and descriptions

Please note that the colour of images shown on this website may be affected by the technology used to access it. Whilst we do our best to faithfully reproduce colours, some variation may occur.

Accepting orders and security

When you place an order, either online, by telephone or in writing, we will treat it as an offer to buy. If we accept your order, we will send you a confirmation email with your order number, at which point we make a legal contract with you. However, we will be entitled to refuse to accept your order if we feel it necessary, in which case we will email you as soon as we can to let you know.

When you receive your email confirmation, you will have an opportunity to check the details and correct any errors. All order details are confirmed by you when your order is placed, including the billing address, shipping address, gift messages and products ordered.

In deciding whether to accept your order we may use the information you have given to us, or we already hold about you, or which we receive from any enquiry we may make with various agencies, to confirm your identity. This assists us to protect you and us from fraudulent transactions. If we decline your offer on security grounds we may contact you to seek an alternative payment method or to advise you to visit one of our stores.

Any amendments or alterations to accepted orders must be in writing via emails and may only be cancelled or varied with MakeHampers consent: the giving of such consent shall not in any way prejudice MakeHampers rights to recover from the Purchaser full compensation for any loss or expense arising from such cancellation or variation.

If the final order is increased from the initial agreed quantities, please note that extra lead-time may be required to re-stock items, pack items and despatch the order. We cannot guarantee any extra stock once agreed.

We guarantee a minimum shelf life of 7 days from point of despatch for fresh produce (i.e., cheese and salmon) and a guaranteed 14-day shelf life for perishable goods (i.e., cheese and chocolate). If you are purchasing items in advance (i.e., a birthday or Christmas gift), please ensure to stipulate this when ordering and ensure the delivery date selected considers our 7 days guarantee.

To ensure all gifts meet the high standard we expect, hampers containing fresh food items will not be delivered on Mondays, as we cannot guarantee items will remain fresh whilst in transit over a weekend.

Please ensure the recipient of the fresh goods will be available to receive them on your chosen delivery date, as we cannot guarantee that these items will still be fit for consumption if delivery is not achieved on the first attempt. Once delivery has been successful it is the recipient’s responsibility to ensure the product is stored appropriately to ensure freshness.

Allergy Information

Each of our hampers has a food specification page that you can find on the product page on our website. The information provided on these pages is accurate as of the time that our brochure went to print. However, if a substitution (temporary or permanent) is made, the nutritional and allergen summaries accompanying each hamper on our website may not be accurate. 

Wines & Spirits 

All hampers that contain alcohol require the recipient to be at least 18 years of age. It is against the law to purchase or attempt to purchase alcoholic liquor under the Licensing Act 2003 if you are under 18 years of age. 

Hampers containing alcohol are dispatched with our courier on an age verification service. This service requires the delivery driver, in line with Challenge 25*, to ask the recipient to provide ID to verify their age at the point of delivery. If the recipient cannot provide ID, the goods cannot be handed over. 

If the recipient cannot provide ID, the courier will make another delivery attempt the following working day. Parcels on an age verification service cannot be left in a safe place, nor can the delivery address be changed. 

*Challenge 25 is a retailing strategy that encourages anyone who is over 18 but looks under 25 to carry acceptable ID if they wish to buy alcohol. Introduced by the Retail of Alcohol Standards Group as Challenge 21 in 2006, Challenge 25 rolled out in the off trade in 2009. 

Substitutions & Product Availability

MakeHampers will make every effort to conform to product listings and in the event of non-availability goods will be substituted with other item(s) of similar quality and value. Errors and omissions excepted. Colours of linings can vary and photographic props i.e., glasses are not included unless otherwise stated.

All orders are subject to availability. If a hamper is sold out, then we will endeavour to contact the purchaser to agree on an alternative hamper.


Discount codes cannot be used on any products that are already discounted by sale prices.

Multiple discounts cannot be used in conjunction with each other. This includes, but is not limited to, drop shipper pricing. Codes and offers from third-party sites such as affiliates and cashback sites cannot be used with other discounts and offers on the website. Any attempts to use multiple offers will be rejected at the point of payment or within 14 days of application. 

We reserve the right to withdraw discounts prior to the stated time if required & cancel orders should they not abide by our discount policy; such decisions will be communicated on our website or by our Customer Service team.


Every address can be sent with a personalised gift message of up to 240 characters including spaces and punctuation. The gift message is printed on 170gsm A5 folding to A6 paper. For individual hamper orders it will be found inside the delivery documentation under the delivery label on the outer box and for bulk deliveries they are inside a “message enclosed” docket on the outside of the box. Both the personalised message and the delivery label are completely hidden for privacy.

To help the accuracy and efficiency of your order please ensure we have the correct information at the time of ordering:

  • accurate address details including postcodes
  • the telephone number of the recipient(s)
  • any gift message(s)
  • any special delivery instructions
  • details of which hampers are to be sent to each address


Except where specifically stated, prices are inclusive of delivery to mainland UK only. We welcome enquiries from elsewhere, however, and ask that in these cases you contact us by email or telephone for onward shipping costs to other locations.

Our deliveries in the UK mainland are contracted to outside carriers who deliver Mondays to Fridays (excluding public holidays) between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

We will inform you by email or telephone at least 48 hours prior to despatch of our expected delivery date. We regret that we are unable to specify exact delivery times within that date. All deliveries must be signed for and you should keep your receipt. If goods are showing obvious signs of damage in transit upon receipt, please refuse to accept the delivery.

Damaged Or Defective Hampers

If your recipient has received a damaged or defective hamper then we guarantee to replace or refund the hamper, as long as:

  1. You email our customer service within 48 hours of delivery of the hamper.
  2. We will request to see the hamper and organise the collection at our cost, but the recipient is responsible in making the hamper available for collection between Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (except Bank Holidays).
  3. If requested by us, you will take a photograph of the damaged or defective hamper(s) and forward a copy to our customer service team.

All orders are subject to availability. If a hamper is sold out, then we will endeavour to contact the purchaser to agree on an alternative hamper.

We are unable to reimburse the cost of returning an item to us under any circumstances, as we will arrange collection through our own courier at no cost to you.


Sales on this web site are governed by English law and you agree to submit any dispute to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. All orders are subject to these terms and conditions and no amendments will be accepted by us. These terms and conditions do not affect your legal rights.

These terms and conditions only cover the MakeHampers web site. Any other web sites to which you link from this site may be governed by their own terms and conditions. We accept no responsibility or liability for the content of web sites which are not under our control.

We are required by law to tell you that sales can be concluded in English only and that we do not file copies of customer contracts.
